1st Grade Current Event News
We feel it is important for our students to know a little something about what is going on in the world around them and our local community. We would love for your child to find a current event to share with the class. Reminders for current event dates will be included on the daily calendar in the green folder. Students may bring in a photograph, magazine or newspaper clipping, or draw their own related picture. Also, please be sure to go over the current event with your child so they are prepared to share 2-3 sentences explaining their current event.
We realize reading the newspaper or watching the evening news may not always be appropriate for first grade minds. Should you need additional resources, we have included the links to several news websites targeted for elementary school students below.
